Oreo Balls

1 pkg Oreo cookies
1 - 8 oz. pkg cream cheese
Dipping Chocolate

Crush Oreo cookies til they become fine crumbs. (I put them in my food processor) Put into mixing bowl with softened cream cheese & beat til smooth. Shape into 1" balls. Place in a plastic container & freeze til firm. If you need to layer them, put wax paper or plastic wrap between layers.

Melt dipping chocolate on low heat. (I use Wilton's Candy Melts) Add 1-2 tsp shortening while melting. Dip ball into melted chocolate & place on wax paper to dry. Return balls to freezer or refrigerator. They soften quickly.

I get the colored Wilton Candy Melts from Michaels. Wal-Mart carries them also but usually only the white or brown chocolate. Wilton Candy Melts have the smoothest results.

YUM!! Lisa (hmm...guess I can't link in a comment?) has another ball-and-chocolate recipe that involves peanut butter that also looks yummy. Keep the holiday treats coming!!

Anyone have good crockpot recipes? I'd love to see them.

These are awesome. We made them for my last day at work but I dipped them in white chocolate. They were fabulous!

Great recipe! Thanks for sharing. I used mint creme oreos and then sprinkled crushed candy canes on the top of the balls before the chocolate coating hardened. Yum.

I made these too--yummy! i wish i would have read Andrea's comment first as i would have done what she did for a more holiday-like taste. Still, anything dipped in chocolate is good by me--and they were a hit.
